 Astro was bred in USA by Linda Beam and it was obtained by our Kennel in 1996. In that moment it was in 4Š place in the group Hound in United States.
It arrived in Argentina on the 11/15/96 being American champion.

In February of 1997 their first Argentinean children were born in our Kennel: a bitch, First and a male, Azzaro, which became champions when they were 18 months of age. Since that moment, all Astroīs children in our Kennel and of other Uruguayan, Brazilian and Argentinean Kennels, they had the fatherīs dominant stamp: Type and Movement.
This is what I saw the first time I had it in front of me in USA. I considered that it was the most beautiful stud dog and that I had seen; and when I studied its pedigree, I decided that it has to be mine.
 
In the 1998 he excelled in the FCA Ranking winning the breed, the group ranking and finishing in the
7th place in the all breed ranking.
The same year he wins the gold medal in lineage with 7 children, all similar to him; and a silver medal in couples.
It has been show in the Puerto Rico and Mexico World dog Show achieving excellent position, finishing the Mexican championship. It was Vencedor de las Americas y Caribe in 1997 and 1999.
We decided to allow it to rest of shows during 1 year, showing him later in Westminster 2000, winning in the Garden the Group Hound, and he became the second Basset in achieve such a distinction in 124 years
 
In that moment, being one of the 7 finalists in the ring, the voting on the Internet gave it as the favourite to win the maximum prize; that didnīt happen but it remained in the world history, because it was ovated and clapped from all the people that was that day in the Madison Square Garden, handled by Andy Luque, Astro was the best.
In that instant we decided that it had already won everything, and it retired from shows with the whole glory. And it was this way.
It left us abrupt and without thinking 6 months later.
It was young to die.
Their children are honoring him in USA (ROM 10) and in Argentina (ROM 28) up to the date, being the best Reproducer in 1999 and 2000 in our country.
It had left beautiful children that we are sure that they will keep honoring its memory. .
